The Personnel of the Region VII Planning and Development Council can be divided into three categories: Council officers, Council members and staff.
Council officers preside over Full Council meetings. There are four offices to the planning and development council: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. (The Executive Director of the regional council is the ex-officio Secretary of the Council.) Council members (including Council officers) serve as the directing arm of the regional council. The responsibilities of the Full Council includes initiating public information and education within the region and integrating the resources of other groups and individuals, either public private, whose interests are in harmony with the purpose of the Council. The Full Council also reviews and revises the Council's By-Laws, approves the annual budget and the region's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. Council members represent the local residents of their respective counties and municipalities. Refer to the Council's By-Laws for detailed listings of Council officer and member responsibilities.
The Region VII staff is the administrative arm of the regional council, carrying out the daily activities necessary to sustain the Council. Currently, the staff is composed of four agency positions: the Executive Director, Regional Development Director, and Community Development Specialist. Consulting staff include an accounting firm, a technology firm and a community/economic development practitioner.
